UIC Direct Entry MSN Program

Hello Everyone!

I am applying to UIC's Direct Entry MSN program and just wanted some input regarding the likelihood of acceptance. I already submitted my application so I am just anxiously waiting for their reply.

I received my BA in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience with an overall GPA of 3.20. My institution GPA was 3.36 (transfer student). My first semester of college was TERRIBLE! Though I did significantly improve after transferring (family issues) but because of that my GPA suffered tremendously.

I have stellar letters of recommendations and did average on my GRE (quant is not my friend).

Has anyone applied and gotten in? What were your stats?

Thank you!

Hi, I applied and received an email today inviting me to interview. As did my coworkers who applied to DNP. I was an average BSN student with average GRE scores. When I attended an information session, I got the impression that the MSN program was able to accept most of the applicants as long as you met their set criterium. It seems like they have more resources for a large MSN program as opposed to the DNP. Good luck!!!
