UCONN 2021

Starting a thread for all those applying to UConn's CEIN program for the 2021 cohort. I know this is WAY in advance... but hey, might as well get this rolling! Maybe we can post some advice for prereqs, and application process in the meantime!

Not too early, I am planning to apply either 2021 or 2022.

I have to take gen chem with lab but I am overseas at the moment and I can't take it online per instructions on the website. Any loopholes?

Hmm... Honestly not sure! Will you be back in the next few months and able to take over the summer at a CT community college?

No unfortunately im here for the next year (husband military orders). I think I heard a couple of people applying and having some prereqs still in process. ill probably get Chem done once I come back

I did really well in Anatomy & Physio and had done the classes in person

Hey, thanks so much for starting this thread!

I am also in the process of applying for the 2021 start and I'm super excited. I will be finishing up microbiology and genetics this spring but am trying to get my application in for the February opening! I have my three references lined up as well, there is no essay to submit right?

Best of luck to everyone!!

Is taking STATS and Genetics online a bad idea? Since there is no lab required for genetics I figured I could just take it online

@hannahnicole - there is an essay and multiple questions! Make your nursingcas account and start the application so you have an idea of what you need to write!

@topluto21 - I don't think it's a bad idea at all! I took micro and bio online and am doing an online genetics course right now.

Hey guys!

Just submitted the application...now, we wait! Does anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back?

Good luck to everyone!

I believe at my informational session they said end of March/beginning of April? BUT- I just read the 2020 thread and somebody who applied in January found out on May 25th... so maybe we should be prepared for that! I think it also depends on if you have another course left or if you submitted with all of the prereqs completed.

I just submitted as well (Stamford)! What campus did you submit for?

I submitted with Storrs as my top choice!

Also, upon reading a bit more I found it stated that we will hear back within 6 weeks after applying. So that's a good timeline to follow!

That’s what I read too in the application, but prepping myself for longer just in case! Fingers crossed!

I am a bit confused and was hoping to see if someone on here can share their advice.

Currently I am taking A&P II and genetics, the semester ends in May so then Ill be left with only one class to take(Stats) can I still apply? Or do I send my complete application at the end of spring semester when grades get released??

They will review your application if you have up to two classes in progress- so, you can apply once your grades are in from A&PII and Genetics!
I would have your entire application done by early May so all you are waiting on are your grades to update in the system and have transcripts sent. Also submit proof of enrollment in Statistics showing that it is in progress!
