Trying to get in! Ahh!

Hi Everyone,

So I finished my bachelors in anthropology after a long hard go at it; it took me sometime due to family issues, my poor health throughout school and a documented problem with my working memory. Long story short, though I did graduate (which was quite a accomplishment itself due to the circumstances), I graduated with a pretty low GPA, around 2.5.

But now, I want to be a nurse. I actually always have. I've worked in community health for some time and have held many instructor and director positions in the field but I never thought I could stomach being a nurse. Now a little older and wiser I've decided not to give up on my dream, but how do you get into a program with that kind of GPA??

I've considered going to CSN, just so I can get it over and done with, but I would really like to get another bachelors in nursing just so I can get a job quicker when I get done with school. I'm taking per-requisites at NSC and trying for straight A's too. If you were in my shoes what would you do? I've tried to talk with nursing program advisers at a few campuses in town and all of them look at my GPA like I'm an idiot, when I really promise I'm not! Anthropology was a hard degree to get and with my other issues it was down-right impossible at times if it wasn't for the support of a few great advocates I had at school.

Anyway, sorry for the long post. All opinions and advice are welcome!

AJ
