Dec 28, 201312 yr Has anyone applied to the Trinitas ER residency program starting next year?-12 weeks clinical and classroom time-will be certified in glucometer, phlebotomy, ACLS, PALS-cost $3200 for Trinitas graduates and $3700 for other graduates.
Aug 27, 201411 yr Author Hey guysI wanted to give you all a quick update. Yes I did apply for the residency program and I got into the program. The main reason I wanted to be in the program was because of the experienced that it provided because I already had most of the certifications (you have to take your PALS, BLS, ACLS again even if you already have them). They were 5 of us in the program and from my understanding they will only be doing groups of 5 from now on. At the end of the 12 weeks all of us got a job offer. Chances are if you get accepted in the program you will get hired because they have a really high turnover rate. Out of the 5 of us 3 left and I think 2 are still working there (did not keep in touch with them). I am glad that I did the ER residency program because I discover that I absolutely love the ER setting, I love the fact that as an ER nurse I have more freedom, and I love the fact that I do not have to deal with the same pain in the ass patients. To be an ER nurse you have to have a thick skin because anything can walk into the door, and you have to deal with everything. I am currently an ER Nurse at an another facility and I absolutely love it. I love the team work, I love the fact that the nurses are helping each other out and my patient ratio is awesome (4:1), and I don't get treated like an idiot if I don't know something......If you want to apply go for it because if you can make it at Trinitas you can make it ANYWHERE.
Jul 1, 201510 yr I know this post is a couple of months late, but I am looking at their residency program now. Did you graduate from a BSN program? Did you have any PCT experience? Did you do any internships/externships? I am just curious as to how selective they are in choosing the 5 individuals.
Oct 27, 201510 yr Hi! Not yet. I am in the process of applying. I am still debating on whether or not I should do it, but I am getting things started if I decide to go through with it.
