Transcript frustration! Will my school ever receive them?

This spring, I completed the last pre-req I need for an ADN program at a tech school. I sent in my transcript a month ago and according to them I haven't received it or processed it because it's not showing up on my online record. I'm pretty sure the same thing happened last time I sent in transcripts, too--one of them was "lost"! I sent emails and called a few people but so far no response. The school is 1.5 hours away and I wonder if driving there and handing in my transcript in person would do any good. Has anyone else dealt with similar frustrations? I feel like I'm so close, but so far away!

A relative of mine wondered why she never heard from one of the nursing schools she applied to. She went to the office in person, and lo and behold, when the office person looked into her folder, there were the "missing" transcripts in the folder, unopened. There was nothing she could do. The school had already picked out the students for the new class. You can't take transcripts in person, unless you call ahead, and ask if you can bring them in a sealed, marked envelope. Most schools will not accept transcripts brought in person by students. I would suggest that when you request transcripts, that you use certified mail, return receipt requested from the post office. I learned to do this every time I request transcripts. It cut down on the number of times I get told that my transcripts were never received. And don't wait until it is too late to follow up. Start calling the receiving institution when enough time has gone by that they should have received the transcripts. If you did everything early enough, you should have time to ask for them a second time if necessary.
