Hello, I've been enrolled in TPAPN for 2 years, I am suppose to be in it for a total of 3 years. I am considering hiring a defense lawyer and going before the board to attempt to get my time reduced or reconstruct my contract. I have been completely compliant with everything asked of me, all of my drug tests have been negative. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with hiring a lawyer for TPAPN enrollees, if anyone has been released early from a program, or if anyone knows how much a lawyer will cost. If the cost is astronomical, I will just finish my time up. The reason I am wanting to do this is so I can start traveling as a RN.

Actually I was early released from TPAPN in the mid 90’s. I requested it through my Casemanager and was released a month or two earlier. I also was granted permission to work in a previously prohibited work environment. I asked to have my case staffed and the TPAPN team approved my request The second time I was in TPAPN I also asked for adjustments to the contract to allow me to work and perform tasks that were prohibited. Again my request was granted. I never had an attorney. They were reasonable with my requests.

Curious about this as well, let me know what you find out! I don't think you'd need a lawyer though, I would just ask your case manager. Or like the previous poster said, see if they'll make an exception. I've asked for a lot of things while in the program and they haven't granted all of them, but they have been extremely reasonable and have really tried to help me out where they can.
