Tips?

I just found out when I am taking my state exam for my CNA. I am NERVOUS!! I am not nervous about the written, it's the skills portion that I am actually TERRIFIED about!!! Any advice/tips?

Honestly I don't think there hasn't been a single person that have not been nurvous about the skills part of the CNA test.

One thing that might help you that has been mentioned on these threads before is going to youtube and look up 4yourcna page. It takes you through what each skill should look like as well as practicing those interpersonal skills that you are graded on as well.

When you do your hand washing talk through what you are doing so that the tester knows you know all the areas that you are washing. I am washing the backs of my hands, i am scrubing my palms, I am washing in between my fingers, I am washing underneith my nails. I am rinsing my hands making sure I am not touching any part of the sink or faucet. This way the tester will not make the mistake of saying I did not see you wash you finger nails when you think you did.

Make sure you arrive early. It can be so much better to allow yourself a moment to calm down a wee bit beore you test. Give yourself a little time to get yourself ready for the test helps.

Practice and study as much as you can now beore the test. Practice on your family and friends.

Make sure when you are going through the skills you know all the bold areas of each skill because they can be an immediate fail while some of the other areas you miss might not be as important and you can make a ew mistakes and still pass

Good Luck tell us how it went when it is over

I could not help but see after I posted this and after I can not change anything that a lot of my words are missing the F. Forgive me for this but my F key does not put out a F a lot of times even when I know I pushed it on the key pad. I always try to prof read my comments before I post but I must have gotten sloppy with this one Sorry :bag:
