I am having some issues with getting my approval from the California BRN. Here's some info:
-Submitted application for licensure by exam on April 27th; paid for the application May 1st; transcripts sent on May 25th
-Registered for Pearson VUE on June 1st
-Handful of classmates start receiving ATTs on June 1st (we ALL submitted our applications at the same time, same day, while we were all together with our administrator at school)
-As of today, July 17th, 32 out of 40 students in my cohort have tested, and only 1 other person to my knowledge has not received their approval
-I have called the BRN repeatedly and have been told there is nothing wrong with my application, and was told as of last Monday, July 10, that an evaluator has it
-I called again today to be told that although the evaluator has it, I should expect to wait another 2-3 weeks, summing up to about a potential 14 week wait (expected processing timeframe is 10-12 weeks)
I completely understand that the CA BRN gets swamped and they are understaffed. However, I feel like it is very odd that a good chunk of my classmates received ATTs within 1 week of transcripts being sent (although we completed the applications at the same time). I was also told by my administrator and one of the BRN staff members that one evaluator should be handling one whole cohort (I guess before students from different schools were all spread out).
Every time I call, I am told to observe the processing times posted online (currently April 16-30), but when I try to bring up the fact that my classmates were process WAY ahead of the processing schedule (back when the times read April 1-15), I get laughed at or hung up on, with claims that they don't believe that my classmates received their ATTs so quickly or that they cannot discuss anyone else's application.
Overall, I am asking if anyone has any tips or advice for dealing with this issue? I live relatively close to Sacramento and have contemplated making the drive to their office, but I feel that I will only get the same information and will have wasted gas and time. Any help would be much appreciated!
