Time for a Change...needing some advice!

Published

Just curious if anybody out there know much about home healthcare agency's in Las Vegas. I am currently working in a hospital on a very busy 53-bed medical surgical unit. We get overflo not many post-ops, we have eight camera beds so have legal holds with medical needs and our floor also has a voluntary detox program. I like my three days a week with four off, but the hours are long and I only see my one year old for 20 minutes a day on the days I work. I would like to find something with more flexibility in my schedule that allows me to be a mommy everyday as well as full fill my life long desire to be a nurse. I am a little apprehensive about going into peoples homes and the safety involved. I want the time to spend with my patients where I don't feel so rushed and I don't have 20 people screaming my name when I walk in the room. Are home health schedules more flexible? How do weekends and holidays work? Also there are hundreds of home health agency's here in town, which ones are good ones, and which ones should I run away from? Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Home Healthcare in Las Vegas is intense to say the least. They are looking for someone who is going to be doing 7 days a week. Home healthcare is much more demanding than my ER Position. Thankfully my fiance drives me around friday, sat, sundays and I do about 17 appointments a day. When I asked to only work for a couple days they severly cut back my patients and I ended up not working for those companies any more. Best home healthcare companies in Vegas would have to be Unique Home Health that uses Kinnser Software that I absolutely love, New Hope Hospice, Dynamic, Care First stay far far away from United Home Healthcare they are rediculously disorganized.
