This is long and runs on a bit... But if you keep reading and reply I'll love you forever:heartbeat
I'm doing as much research and asking as many questions as I can about Nursing. I have about a year left at Arizona State University, I'll be graduating with a B.A. in Sociology and a Minor in Family and Human Development. I need 32 credits to graduate and all of those are elective credits that I hope to use for Nursing
Pre-requisites.
I have been contemplating career options for awhile and finally decided on nursing. It was an option when I started at ASU but decided against it at first (now I am regretting that decision).
As for now I'm looking into a ADN program followed by a BSN, because I do not think my grades would get me into a good BSN program right away, I could then bridge from an ADN program.
My boyfriend and I will hopefully be married or on the track to being married by the time I finish at ASU and he is looking at several different Graduate School, one being University of Minnesota. So I am trying to research ADN and BSN programs in that area. I know he was looking at the Twin Cities campus. I'm secretly hoping he decides MN ( I'm not telling him where I want him to go, I want him to decide for himself :)). His whole family is from there and I've traveled there many times with him and love it. And I am beyond ready to leave AZ.
So can anyone give me advice on different schools and programs in that area? How is the job market? Anything you think I should know please feel free to tell me. There are so many options and words that I have no idea what they mean that I'm starting to drive myself crazy.
I appreciate everything!!!

There are a lot of ADN programs around the twin cities! MCTC is in Minneapolis and has a really good nursing program! There is also Hennepin Tech and Normandale Community College and Anoka Ramsey Community College, etc etc there are a ton but if your BF/ future hubby is looking at U of MN twin cities MCTC would probably be the closest and your best bet!! Let me know if that answers your question!!

It is smart of you to do your ADN first because the pay difference is barely anything (like $1/hour) I know my work at Children's will pay around $1500 a year for education so you can be making $30/hour while you go back and get you BSN paid for. Augsburg has a nice program as well as Metro state. Jobs can be sort of hard to come by right now in the twin cities but that is always in flux. Best of luck it is a GREAT city (if you don't mind the horrible weather 8 months of the year :-) Lots of culture and Nurses are very well respected (in my experience)
