Greetings everyone!
Ok, I'm seriously thinking about moving to Ireland...I'm originally from France, but I've been living in Canada for more than 3 years now. I do love Canada, but I miss my family. I was supposed to get married last summer, but we broke up (nasty story).. I don't want to go back to France because I don't really like the way the French think and I like speaking english (even if it's not perfect...you've noticed that, eh?!). That's why I was thinking about Ireland. I don't know if it's a good idea or not. I've heard just a few things about this marvelous country...I don't know what nursing looks likes over there...The workload? The pay? The cost of life? I don't know. That's why I'd really like to hear from you guys who I'm sure know a whole lot more than I do!
Thank you for your advices..thank you for taking the time...

Hi Donuts, working in Ireland can be fun but the cost of living is very very high, much higher then Canada. You can practice as an RN there by registering with An Bord Altarnais, the nursing bord. It can take 3/4 months to register. The weather is mild and the people are much the same as anywhere good, bad and indifferent. The main problem is affordable accomodation, and apt can cost you $2000 a month depending where you live . Groceries and the cost of living is about twice the cost of Canada, and most importantly "donuts" there are no Tim Hortons, here, and if there were the coffee would cost $3.50. Good luck. Slan abhaile.
