Thinking too far ahead?

Please let me know if I'm on the right track or thinking too far ahead. I have a BA in Criminal Justice. I am a prior law enforcement officer. I am starting an ADN program next month and it's 4 sememesters long. After completion of the program I plan to work full time only for six month. Hopefully I will be an obstetrics nurse because I plan to start a Masters in Midwifery the fall after I become an RN which will only give me about 6 months of fulltime work. I can't help but wonder if this is feasible or if I'm thinking too far ahead. Does my plan seem to be too much? I have never been in the medical field but has always been intrigued by it, especially childbirth. I could really use so advice from the nursing "vets"!!:nurse:

There is nothing wrong with thinking ahead. I think that you have to have a year exp as a RN before you can get your Masters, and I believe that you only go 1 day a week, so you can still work fulltime if you want.

:yeah:Hi Vanesia,

It's not like I have any experience, but I personally do not see anything wrong with you having your mind set already. Proper planning prepares people for what is to come. By you planning, you already know where it is that you want to go in this multidirectional field. And since you know where you want to go , you will do what is necessary to get there! So good luck in nursing school ,or shall I say be blessed in nursing school because luck is not going to get us through!!!!!:nurse:
