Things to learn before entering hospice?

I am so excited. I am getting ready to start my last semester for my RN. I currently work at our Surgical floor and love it! Decided may move to Alabama to be near my Mom and checked out opportunities. The pay at the hospitals in the town are horrible, but Hospice (which I've always wanted to do) is comparable to what I make now.

My question to you all, what can I do to prepare myself for entry into hopice? I can't volunteer, I just don't have the time. I work 2 12's a week, go to NS fulltime and have two special needs kids at home. I am determined, however.... One thing I'd like to learn more about is pain management.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Cheryl
