So, most of you have heard my story before, was in AZBN CANDO program and failed it (my own fault). License revoked in 2003. Have now been clean and sober since 02/18/2005. Recently applied for re-issuance (7/31/2017).

Have not heard much from board. Each day, I tell myself not to get excited about the mail, but, each day I do. I am aware of the monitoring it will take, the money, the loss of free time, the no vacations, the endless worry about what I eat, ingest, smell, etc. The worry, "Did I call and check in today?" The peeing in front of strangers (if they do that still) and restrictions on my license.

But, I am sooooo ready to start. I am 52 years old now and want to get back into the profession I love.

The board website says they only have 270 days to make a determination. However, an investigator told me they are taking 11+ months just to do the investigations.

Anyone familiar with this type of situation and any insight to time frames?

Also, with 12 1/2 years of documented sobriety, letters that I completed 1 full year of IOP (in 2005), letters from employers (same non nurse job for 7 years), friends, my sponsor (same sponsor for five years), etc, attesting to my clean time, will I likely still have to do some type of rehab or IOP again?
