Hey all. Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between a tertiary hospital and a primary care hospital. I know the difference between tertiary and primary healthcare, but don't quite understand the difference when it comes to hospitals. I noticed when looking through employment adds in some nursing mags, some facilities identify themselves as either primary or tertiary. Just curious. Any feedback is welcome.

Tertiary care generally refers to hospitals that offer highly specialized services such as pediatric cardiothoracic surgery or GI medical oncology.
