Hello loves, I'm a 22 year old fast food employee who recently decided to stop looking for another job and go back to school and was thinking about focusing on going back to school and become a nurse.
Now I did attend college the fall after graduating high school in 09 with intentions of becoming a doctor but sadly I flunked out and was discouraged from ever pursuing a career in the medical field.
Last year I took the compass test at Tenn Tech and got a 90 on the reading but came short on the math with a 30.
I plan to take it again this year and was wondering is it even worth pursuing since I did so horrible in university? Are there any tips for a prospective student like myself? Any advice would be helpful and much appreciated.

I go to TCAT in Clarksville. It is a LOT of work, at least one test every day at least one chapter sometimes 7 in one test with one day to study. It is extremely fast paced. I got a 98 on reading and 88 in math on the compass. I am in my 40's and have an Associate degree I earned 20 years ago. The math nearly killed me. I still ended with a 90 in math and a 91% for the entire first trimester. You have to devote ALL of your time to it. I worked on the weekends and went down to one day a week after a while. Brush up on your math is all I can say. Of course it had been 20 years since I had taken math and when I went to college if you were an art major you didn't need to take even pre algebra, nor did I have to do it in HS so this was the first time I had ever done any algebra. Once we got into med math I think it got much easier. If you do this program though you will need to put a lot of work into it, lots and lots of time studying. You have to know this information, not cram for it and memorize for the test.
Thanks for the replies. Math has always been my weakest subject in school, but I have gotten decent scores in it, no lower than a C. I guess my biggest downfall is studying which I am willing to do since I really want this. Thanks again for the encouragement.
