Tell me about Daytona

Hi-

my dad mentioned that I could move to his house in Daytona beach if I wanted after I graduate next year. Can anyone tell me about the schools in the area for kids? I have a elementary school aged boy.

I also would like to know what hospitals there are to work at and what it is like? As a new grad do they train you for ICU/ER? I heard Halifax was a hospital to look at. Are there any others?

Thanks,

Tooty

Well as far as hospitals there are literally a couple dozen within a short drive- ie a hour or so. Examples would be Halifax MC in Daytona, Parrish MC in Titusville, the Orlando Regional system has a few on that side of the area as does Florida Hospital.

If i'm correct Daytona is in Volusia county- and my step daughter had done some research- ultimately went West of Orlando however. It would be the Volusia county school district.

rj:rolleyes:

I live in Volusia County and work at Halifax, but not as a nurse. I work at Florida Hospital as an RN. Comparing the two, I would recommend Orlando over anything in Volusia County as far as pay goes. I also wouldn't recommend any of the Daytona Beach schools. If you want to live in the Daytona area, the better schools are in Port Orange or Ormond. If you want to e-mail me, I would be happy to talk to you about this some more. I can give you more specific info. :) just post here if you want more info from me...
