I am waiting on my acceptance letter from TECO for their LPN program. It seems they are 5 students short of starting in November at this point. They say they have two testing this week, I hope they pass!

Hey, there!!! I am trying to start the LPN program in January. If you got accepted into the program, how is it? where did u do ur clinicals? Do u feel prepared to take the NCLEX-PN? Just wondering if it's a good program u know. Thanks.

The full time program is about 12 months, currently we are doing clinicals at Osceola health care, St cloud medical center and Osecola regional medical center.

They have a high NCLEX pass rate.

I graduated from TECO (LPN31!) in July '08.

It is very difficult, but thats why so many of the students pass NCLEX.

We started with 30 students & 14 graduated 11 months later.

Some chose not to complete the program, others fail out.

You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT, miss class the first couple months.

Almost daily there is an exam, and if you miss, you will have a ZERO.

Nearly impossible to retain an 80% average with a zero for an exam.

I felt very confident with my skills when I began my nursing career.

Mrs B & Mrs W are great :yeah:

I am taking LPN at TECO. I am in the day class that will graduate in July. :yeah:

We will be your "seniors"!! The course is very intense but so far has been really worth it.

We just finished Intro to Med/Surg just before the break.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.

Good luck!

You must be in the night class!!! I am in the day class and we just finished intro to Med/Surg and are doing Growth and Development. We just finished the Med Pass test. (we have 3 that need a re-take)

How many students do you guys have left?? We started with 33 and we are down to 26... not bad considering the class that just graduated.

Wishing you a great new year!!!!

Take care,

Val

Hello John LPN or anyone else that have information on the TECO evening LPN program.

I applied to the evening LPN program starting in October 2011 at TECO; I have an interview next week. I am super excited!!! I would like to learn a little more about the evening program if possible.

I know clinical is every other weekend, but how soon do we start clinical (how many weeks after we start the program?). If I am admitted, I am just trying to make arrangements.

I think I read somewhere on this site where a former day student from the day program indicated that during the first several weeks, they had a test everyday. I have read a lot messages from students that attended the day program at TECO, but did not read much about the evening program. I am very curious.

I am very excited about starting this new chapter and I just want an idea of what is ahead for me regarding the evening LPN program at TECO. Any information or advice you can provide me is appreciated.

Thanks,

Magda81

I have a very good friend that just interviewed for the same evening class.....

You will be a month or so in before you start clinicals, you will have to complete fundamentals first. Also don't depend on clinicals being everyother weekend. Some times you will go two weeks in a row then off a couple of weeks, we have even done clinicals three weeks in a row. It just depends on getting all the hours in around school holidays ect.

The program is tough and very fast paced (like all nursing programs) but doable. My clinical instructors were fantastic we had a good time at clinicals while we were learning.

PS hard to believe that I went from waiting for my acceptance letter to working as a nurse during this thread....LOL

Also I have been in Valencia knocking out my pre reqs for the LPN - RN Bridge program.

Wow Val sorry i never noticed this reply to the thread, yes I was in the night class, LPN 37E we started with 34 and graduated with 17.

I think we had 3 or 4 that had to re take med pass test.

@John -- LPN, thank you very much for your response. It is good to know that the clinical is not ever other weekend. I really thought it was...

Congratulations on completing the program, graduating and getting a job as a nurse !!! :)

One last question, how difficult was it for you to find employment as a Nurse?

Thanks again and best wishes on completing your pre-reqs at Valencia and starting the bridge program.
