Techinal problems, advice needed please

I started working on an LDR unit a few months ago. My vag exams are getting better but the problem is after about 8cm I really am less accurate because I have really small hands. Is there any way I can be sure that the pt is fully dialated without having to deliver the baby myself?? I really would like to be more confidant but this is driving me nuts. Any advice would be appreciated

Use one or two fingers and go all the way around the circumference of the baby's head. If there is still cervix there you will feel it.

Yep the above advice is good. Feel all around the head----if there is a RIM, there is cervix there and you do not want mom pushing. It's not critical you be exact after 8cm anyhow. RIM is really just a RIM---9cm or more---does not matter all that much.

And an anterior lip will just be felt over the anterior part of the fetal head.

Really, that is all you really need know to act on.......good luck.

Good luck.
