TEAS vs. NET...

Published

I know others have probably asked this question on this board, but what is the difference between the TEAS and the NET? A while back, I bought the study guide for the NET, but then later realized that I have to take the TEAS, not the NET. So I was just wondering what the difference is? Could I still just use that NET guide that I bought to study for the TEAS?

Thanks!

here is information about the teas:

http://www.atitesting.com/productinfo/teas.aspx - the home page of the organization that writes and administrates this test. the test covers four general areas: math, reading, english and science.

math covers whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions, decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion

reading covers paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inferences/conclusions

english covers knowledge of punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words and spelling

science covers science reasoning, science knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, basic physical principles and general science

I don't know about the NET..but the TEAS is written on an 11th grade level, per the customer representative that I spoke to at ATI Testing.

The test is not hard, however, the science part is ridiculous. The questions are not about reasoning they are very specific...either you know the answer or you don't. (ie. At the base of a volcano, what you would call the place where two plates that overlap)...Yeah, they are that specific.

Brush up on fractions (I've been working with decimals so long I had to re-teach myself) and basic algebra.

I'll warn you in advance, the ATI Testing people do NOT provide a "mock" test. The test in 180 questions, but what they offer online is only 100 and they only have one set of questions for $27.00. If you purchase another test, they give you the EXACT same test, same questions, everything.
