TEAS

I want to get into nursing at COTC. I have a GPA of 3.1 and scored 57.3 on TEAS. Is there a chance I can get into the program with that score. My high school GPA is 4.0. I'm currently a Medical Assistant. This is stressing. I really want to become a nurse

Your TEAS score is really low. What did you study with? And also how did you study?

You GPA, although good is not competitive enough for nursing. Even though your high school GPA is good, I think it depends on where you want to go to for nursing school. In some schools, you would need to take prerequisites before you can get into the core nursing program (The actual nursing program).

You need to bring up your GPA significantly specifically in Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, psychology, English comp. Nursing is highly competitive and you're in the running with people who have a 4.0 GPA.

Look at what your school puts into consideration for acceptance and work on increasing your chances on being accepted. For example, do you need any certifications etc...will your experience as a medical assistant work in your favor? Talk to a nursing representative in your school.

Some of My MA classes transferred so I don't have to take any pre req. 3.1 is my GPA from CSCC. COTC requires 2.5 and above but it's very competitive. I've been working as MA for 2 years. I do well in class I'm not a good test taker

Curious if you gained acceptance. I am currently (anxiously) waiting to hear back about my application.
