TEAS Scores

HI,

I took the TEAS on Jan 15 and scored a 73. I am not sure myself what the average score is. I hope I can get into my program with this score.

Hello, I am in Northern California and the school I got accepted in had the TEAS requirement. They said the average gpa was 3.8 and the average TEAS was around what you quoted. #1 I took the TEAS 2 times. The school I applied to said you could take it as many times as you want to and they would take the highest score. I think I scored 83.5 the first time 82 program percentile rank and then the second time I scored 91.2 which ranked 99 program percentile rank. I was told that the average score will go up 10 points. It was worth it to take it a second time if you are allowed. The school said they take the Program percentile rank.

Thanks! Good for you, both on your great score and acceptance. I am in Nor Cal and applied to CSUEB. They allow multiple test attempts, as well. Maybe I will take the TEAS again, regardless of my score. Its just the next test date is the same day as the Foo Fighters concert and I don't want to get up at 6:00 am that day. I was exhausted after the last test. I just wish I knew what my score was. The wait is so painful, and I am sure the wait until May will be worse. I feel like I am waiting on a pregnancy test result!

At my ASN program the lowest TEAS was 87% with a 4.0. Of course, we only had 10 spots so that made it harder.

I think you had to get your app. in October or November and then to have to wait all the way until May. Then you wait all the way until September to start. In comparison the TEAS test score posted pretty quickly. I am sure you will do fine.

I applied to the Concord campus, as well. I won't go if there is only space in Hayward. I didn't apply to any other BSN programs. I was thinking I would just do an ADN, but was encouraged by a counselor to apply. Though I am on several waitlists, once the idea of going to CSEB got under my skin, I think I will be disappointed if I don't get in.

The wait is terrible. I am sure I will be on pins and needles by May. Even though I knew that the decision wouldn't be made for months, when the school sent a "congratulations, you have been accepted letter" and a bumper sticker/window cling, my heart skipped a beat. Well, it was only to their "prenursing program." That was when I really knew it WAS important to me. I feel fortunate, that if I don't get in, I have several avenues to fall back on and if I decide I need or want the BSN, I can get it the RN to BSN path.

So, I took your lead and signed up for another TEAS. Thanks. So, how are you liking it now that you have made it this far?

I love it. The program is relatively small and so you really get to know your fellow students. I know I have made some lifelong friendships here. There is a lot of work (so much to take in) and the quarters go so fast, but it is interesting and I feel the faculty are very supportive. The teachers go back and forth between Hayward and Concord. So regardless of which program you get into you probably will have some of the same teachers. The first quarter I only had classes 3 days a week. This quarter I have classes 4 days, but I am not complaining because I used to work full time and then go to school at night to knock out prereqs. I applied to SF State as well and got accepted there, but it would have been a long commute. I am happy with CSUEB. Take care and good luck.

JBRN2B, since you got accepted to two very competitive programs and one is my first choice school, I wonder if you know what the avg point base was for your class. I went to the orientation at CSUEB and they said the avg GPA was 3.8 and avg TEAS program rank was 96th percentile. They didn't say how many of those accepted had the bonus points for second language fluency or health care. Do you have any idea? I have an overall GPA of 3.89 (summer school Chemistry ... grrrr!) and got 99 percentile program rank for the TEAS, plus I get health care provider points. I am missing the second language fluency bonus, but it is too late for that now! I have got to be close, right? I just know some schools have even turned away 4.0s. I wish I had a crystal ball.

Excellent GPA and great TEAS score. I scored in the 99th percentile as well and my GPA was 3.9, but I had absolutely no extra points. I was told that only a handful of people actually get those extra points. I had a friend who scored in the 90th percentile and had a 3.7 gpa and she got in. I don't think she had any extra points either. It sounds like you should have no problem. Once accepted they give you a choice between Hayward and Concord. There are more people trying to get into Hayward, but it sounds like you will be high enough that you can choose. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
