Teamwork

I'm really unhappy with some of our RN supervisors. When we (floor nurses) ask them to do something (like assess a pt.) or get us something we need (supplies that are locked up), we get so much attitude and many times they do not come through for us. The other night I asked 2 supervisors to do something for a pt, and because they did not do this I was questioned by the DON. I was busy with another responsibility and I asked for help. I was told that I should have done what I asked them to do. I like everyone I work with, but I have seen many of our RN's giving extra work to LPN's. It doesn't feel like a team and we are being reprimanded when there is a problem.

Who is your manager? Have you informed your manager of this problem before? When you have this problem have you been writing a note to your manager stating the problem and the impact it had on your ability to provide care? If not, those are the things you need to do and you need to get this documentation to your manager before the supervisors get to her/him.
