teaching care plan

I am trying to do a teaching care plan and hit a brick wall as to what the assessment data is. It is not on a real patient and my topic is rheumatoid arthritis. I am teaching to the class as if they were the patient. My short term goal is relief of symptoms and patient education of disease. My teacher doesnt help explain this i get the course outline but i am lost as to what assessment data would be

OK. With any teaching paper, you first have to ASSESS the patient. Or in your case I guess you need to assess the class. What do they already know? Don't ever waste a patient's time teaching them something they know.

You really can't decide what you'll teach until you do the assessment. Are you supposed to just make up assessment data? In that case your patient doesn't know anything. ;) lol

Thank You! I am assuming they don't know anything about the disease. So far I had give overview of disease, explain how to relieve symptoms, and how to maintain a tolerated lifestyle, then i was basing my outline of content to be taught off of that. I hope its right Thanks for your input!
