Can anyone think of classes (other than pre-reqs) available at TAMU-CC that might help me in my nursing career? I thought about medical terminology but its not offered next semester. I am taking the online pathophysiology class and I need one more 3 hour class so that I can get a Stafford loan. Any ideas?

Already taken those! I was a bio major for 3 years, then switched to psyc my last year so it seems like I have taken every science/psyc class available. I asked an advisor and she didnt have any suggestions either, ah well! Thanks for trying :)

A critical care class if available.

I am a TAMUCC BSN graduate (2000), and returning to the MSN this spring.

I took a class in the psych department that was called "Death, Dying, and Suicide" that was really good.

Spanish, if you've never had it or could take more.

Extra biology.

Extra psychology: PSYC 4390 - Health psychology topic. PSYC 3363 - Abnormal psychology.

Communications: COMM 1318 - Interpersonal Communications.

Health care admin courses.

Health courses (prefix HLTH) - I took HLTH 4350 Creative Lifestyles for Wellness - and it was easy, but one could argue that it was relevant to nursing.

Nutrition.

Management courses - anything might help if you have aspirations of doing anything beyond staff nursing.

Sociology courses.

I think you can take the nursing courses NURS 3202 - Nurse as a professional - before you are admitted to the program.

Basically, anything that would contribute in anyway; especially in making yourself more attractive to nursing faculty or employers. The more diversified your educational background, the better.
