Taking NCLEX in IL from CA

Is it possible to take my nclex test in Chicago even if i originally applied from California and considering i got an authorization to test from CA?

You can take the exam in any location that you want. It is a national exam,

not state specific. Same way that you could of taken the exam in Saipan or Guam. If you have your ATT letter from California and wish to work in Illinois, then remember that you will have to endorse your license over to Illinois. Also be aware that you cannot do that until you have a SSN#, as California won't considered you licensed until you have one. And you can't get one until your petition has been approved. This si the reason that many nurses are no longer using California as a place of initial licensure.

Hi! I already have an SS# and Im already a citizen. I'm planning to send my application here in california and also the live scan and everything but Ill be going to chicago and wait till the ATT are sent to me in my CA address. Me and my baby are going to visit her grandpa in chicago and decided to go visit the phil after taking the test. Now i dont want to go back to cali just to take the test. do U think i cud schedule the test in chicago, i'll just ask someone from cali to send my ATT to chicago for me...thanks so much for ur reply. After you receive your ATT, and some states do send them via e-mail, just schedule your exam with Pearson-Vue for whatever city in Illinois that you want.......quite simple and ggod luck with your exam..... :)
