Taking a job

I started a job that I hate. I have been there less than a month and realize they lied about so many different things. Including the equipment that is very old.  I did mention to the manager what I was told during the interview and she said we will be getting new stuff soon. Maybe 2025. It's 6 pts and it's a step down unit. I mentioned that and she said well it's a step down but we tell everyone it's just med Surg  cause we don't have enough nurses. I honestly just am so turned off and I want to leave. Am I being sensitive ? If I get offered another position would I have to give 4 weeks notice?

That is a red flag, I worked at a stepdown unit and our max is 5 pts. I would try to wait it out until you get another job. Management always lies just so that they can hire you, so it is not surprising.

I am so sorry you're experiencing this. I guess it really depends on your hospital, and if you had signed any contracts. If there isn't anything in writing, the standard would be 2 weeks notice. Wishing you the best!
