Take off a semester or not

I am currently preparing to graduate with my ADN and am considering taking off the fall semester to sort of reboot and also because the program I want to enroll in full for fall semester. So what I am wondering is if taking a semester off will really hurt my hiring chances since I will not be 'enrolled' in a program when I am applying? I am hoping someone can maybe shed some light on this and give some advise as to if it is a good idea or bad idea.

    Uh, your post is missing information, like what are you enrolling in, an RN-BSN program?

    Yes the next step would be an RN to BSN so I may obtain a DNP in the future
