Stars 10 days doesn't seem like a lot of time but it sounds like you are continuing to make good progress

Tweety hope the next 2 shifts go well

Did get out bird watching the the morning but didn't see much. Was able to get the laundry done before taking the train downtown to meet my friend J at the theater. Haven't been in an actual movie theater in years, maybe before the pandemic. The ads and previous are even longer than before. We saw "The Death of Robin Hood", and the reviews were largely correct: The beginning was excessively violent and gory but the rest of the movie was more thoughtful, and we both likely that later part better. Rest of the day was pretty quiet. Watched Svengoolie for the first time in a long time as he had a movie I hadn't seen in a while, "The Time of Their Lives" with Abbott and Costello

Today will do the final packing and checking before I go to pick up dad and his ladyfriend and drive to Indiana for the reunion. Weather is not looking great, looks like it will rain there today and Monday and stop Tuesday which is when we leave. Will bring my portable keyboard and see if I can post on AN using that with my phone

Will be in the low 70s here with rain starting later, low 80s in Indiana with rain and storms

Great start, here. Wrote two paragraphs and then inadvertently deleted all but 3 letters of the last sentence I typed! Ahem! Will start anew and hope that doesn't happen again!

Supposed to get to 91 degrees; haven't checked on the "feels like" temp, as I will primarily be working indoors. HOPE to prepack some of the things I will be storing in whatever space J has told me will be available for me to do that. Otherwise, since I can't be sure how much storage space there will be, any of the boxes to be stored will have to be piled in my room. Whatever will be, will be.

Have to get dressed and take the Tink out for a DRAG around the yard. She is always so eager to go to the space where she has last seen critters ; I think the noise of her panting and trying to cover the distance as fast as she can, yanking me along after her, scrabbling the ground in an effort to 'get there' quickly, is a great warning system for any living thing to disappear before her arrival.

But the first task will be to grab me anutha cuppa kawphee! Then I will apply myself toward accomplishing concrete, measurable steps toward what is coming up, which is the arrival of the POD to my driveway on the 30th. I will be taking the bed and frame apart and stacking it in the 'formal living room' along with prepacked boxes to go first into the POD, which arrives here on the 30th. I'll have until the 7th to get it ready to go.

Tomorrow the banking business will have to take place. Once my SS check is in the my original bank, I'll have to take cash $$$ over to the other bank to be deposited into the checking acct the debit card will be drawn from, which is where the POD costs will be taken from. I will also have to do the change of address things at each bank and hope they can open a new acct for me at each of their banks in Fla, without my being required to GO to those banks after I arrive. I have to admit I am not knowledgeable or practiced enough to know what can and can't be done. I will also have to order checks from my Fla banks, (the same banks as I use here) to be delivered to my new address so I have them available there right away, without waiting.

I will have to go talk to the office manager at the lawyers office , to ask about how to get the old will replaced by a new one, because I don't want to have to pay several hundreds of dollars to consult with the actual lawyer. Not that I have a lot of money to make an appt. and I don't really have heck of a lot to bequeath anyone, but still.....And I think the new will would have to be in place in Fla before they can pitch the one already in place here. ("This will is to replace the one on file in such and such a county"; a formality like that, which will require me to make an appt at a Fla attorney's office.)

I probably will wait until the POD delivery to inform the step-dgt of her time limit to come get her stuff she wanted saved for her. If she doesn't, or can't, it will probably be pitched out with everything else when B and SiL clear out the house. Though I would be willing to package up at least the photos and mail them to her. But the bigger stuff will be GONE if she doesn't re-arrange her schedule to get here before that.

Details, details!

Time for me to get dressed now so I can BEGIN 'the processeeeees' required. Deep breath, and Upsy-Daisy!

The good news is I got reasonable parts of the floor in my 'old' bedroom cleared. The bad news is it was MORE and MORE piles of photos!! And duplicates of duplicates! EGADS! Photos weigh WAY more than paper, as far as shredding goes. Can't burn 'em, though. I dunno. Something will occur anyway, even if it is adding more pollution to the trash to be buried in the dump. I had NO idea there were so many photos, but I'd forgotten about hubby's photography-phase, years ago. I literally spent another 2 + 1/2 hours going through them so I could keep the ones I'm going to keep. At some point, once I get down to Fla, I will have to go through them ALL again and get VERY, VERY serious about off-loading many more of them. Right now it would be a waste of time I could use for the actual packing of stuff. I was so hunched over and stiff from the task of photo sorting, ARGH! I even made another bagful of them for step-dgt.....IF she will come and get them.

It's not ten days, Joe, it is 16 days until they take the POD away. They bring it to me on the 30th, then I have until the 7th to get it packed for them to take away. It still is getting uncomfortably close, but since I don't have to clean up any mess I make or clear out the rest of the house in any way, I think it is doable. The packing of the POD will be relatively easier compared to what I am trying to do now! And there are lots of things to be donated to the thrift store, in fact, they can come and get 'em, 'cause the Salv Army does come and take away donations.

So, um, now I gotta to get back to what's at hand to get done.

I am reading and following you all, though I haven't been posting. We left Friday for a drive to Susanville in the RV. As usual, we split the drive up into 3-5 hour segments. We camped Fri nite at Lone Pine and Sat nite at Topaz Lake, Nevada. Today we pulled into Susanville, Lassen County Fairgrounds, and checked in around noon. We are all settled in, will be here about a week. Music Camp, which we signed up for, is Tues, Wed, Thurs; the bluegrass festival is Fri-Sat-Sun. We will leave Monday for the drive home.

The cats are doing well, they are used to the neighbor caring for them in our absence. Abita, the gray tabby, even jumped up on her shoulders as she was preparing their food! She and her mom, Ciri, will often jump on our shoulders if we happen to bend over and they get the urge to jump. A few times they BOTH have jumped up! Silly girls!

The drive up 395 was, as always, stunning as we went from desert to mountains. Coming home I think we may stop at Schatt's Bakkery in Bishop, for some goodies (for which they are famous!). We didn't want to take the time to stop there on the way up.

Temperatures the next two days will be in the mid-90's, which we will weather with all windows open and fans going. It will be hot, but it WILL cool down at night. We are looking forward to music camp and to jamming. We played a little bit today, not much. I haven't played for a couple weeks, so my calluses are not great and I don't look forward to pain when I'm pickin'!

Tweety, I hope your shifts go better than today's. Thinking of you.

No Stars, good on ya, getting all that done! And yes, the deadline is looming!

Hello to Joe, nursej22, Ado, and all who show up!

Have a good evening and a good Monday!
