Hey,

I recently moved to Omaha for my husbands job. I graduated with my ADN in may and passed boards a few weeks ago, now the job hunt begins.....any suggestions on where to look for a job for a new grad like me???? I LOVE pediatrics (but am afraid they want experience)....any suggestions would be SUPER helpful! THANKS!!!

Megs,

Everyone starts somewhere, so why not check out Children's, UNMC, and Creighton first? Teaching institutions with students of all disciplines and levels of expertise would be a great place to learn and grow as a new RN. Good Luck!

Check out careerlink.com. There are quite a few listing for RNs in the Omaha area. Are you looking for hospital jobs? Bergan has NICU positions open and Children's Respite Care Center has a pediatric RN position. I think The Ambassador has a pediatric floor but I'm not sure. The thing I have noticed for the last few weeks is that almost every position I see open is for nights or day/night rotation. I don't know about you but I'm not sure I can handle nights.

You can also check out Boystown Hospital.

I work in the center of the State, but have not had any trouble getting hired. Actually only had to wait for an answer once, for the other jobs I got hired on the spot. You should not have any problems.
