Suffolk CC

Hello everyone all previous nurses that graduated from suffolk cc, I'm a bit confused and I feel like the admissions people are not answering my questions. I start in the fall 14 semester and I applied for liberal arts general studies. I see the course guideline online and It doesn't show the 4 or 5 classes I actually need to get accepted into the nursing program. I'm so confused about the process and I no clue about what steps or years I have to completed before the 2 years rn program? Any comments I will gladly appreciate it ???

Hello! I am currently take the prerequisites for suffolks nursing program. You need to take Psychology 101, anatomy and physiology 1, anatomy and physiology 2, and English 101. It is recommended to also take Microbiology as well but you can still apply without it. The gpa to apply to the RN program is recommended to be 3.0 but aim to get it higher because the nursing program is so competitive. Hope this helps a little.

It helps that is exactly what the admission lady told me but before you were able to take the pre-reqs what courses did you take or when I start in fall can I immediately apply for the pre reqs? She explained to me that I would have to have a degree program but I don't want to take courses that I wouldn't need because my goal is to apply for the nursing program

It depends on your admission exam. Did you take one? I did bad in math and had to take a developmental math class first. If you didn't take chemistry in high school you'll have to take that before you can take A&P. Try to meet with a advisor they will help you make a plan of what to take first.

I take the exam June 17th I've been studying because I suck all math. And thank you this helped me I hope to not have to take all those courses that I wouldn't need. After I take the text I will meet with an advisor. thanks so much

Good luck on the test! And you are welcome!
