Succession Planning

I am an adjunct clinical instructor currently enrolled in a DNP program. One of my possible scholarly project/ capstone ideas has to do with succession planning in largely online universities.

Do you work in such an environment (or a traditional university) and have any insight into succession planning? Any help would be appreciated. I'm in the midst of my lit review, and there's not a lot out there specific to nursing faculty- esp. in a non-traditional setting.
