do any of the NPs here subscribe to Up to Date?

I've seen some of their content and like it, some colleagues get it but it's because they are doctors affiliated with some educational institutions. It's pretty expensive for an individual practitioner so I'd like to hear about ways to get it cheaper, and whether it's worth the money if you have it.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

I have it but my practice pays for it (about $500/year). If I had to pay for it, would use other resources.

Specializes in Emergency, Outpatient.

I have it and love it. I bought a subscription as a student then when I started practicing my workplace paid my subscription. I especially like the CEU's I have 45 hours already this year just in research on UpToDate

Specializes in Critical care, gerontology, hospice.

I haven't used it because of the money. I use LexiComp instead, which is also pricey (Just not as much) but downloads to my PDA and is great. Go to their website for more info. No I'm not in their employ, just a happy customer.

Specializes in NP Business Coach, Mentor, Business Ed..

I had up to date when I worked for Indian Health. Very nice. However, the cost is too much for me at this point in time. I have other subscriptions that I use all the time.

Uptodate is pricey and the information is 6 months old (that's old by the digital age standards). mdconsult.com is also pricey ($349 a year), and only lets you go to the site to search. They do have CME there though. Medinfonow.com is a good price ($89/year) and sends you an email every week with the newest abstracts/citations from PubMed in the medical fields you select so you can stay informed, plus it has a good search function of PubMed that was created by medical librarians.
