studying

I just graduated a couple of weeks ago and I am trying to prepare for nclex. I am overwhelmed and do not even know if my approach is right or not :( I am using the ncsbn extended rn review program. Also, I do not even know how to begin studying the drugs....I am terrified! I just recieved my ATT and I would like to take it and get it over with as soon as possible. If anyone has some hints for me-that would be incredible. My friend took it 3 times and is studying to take it a fourth time-I really do not want that to happen

try using suzzanes plan. many are saying that its good. I havent tried it but i think its good since its for free. you can find it in the sticky thread. Try to read it:thnkg:I think it will help you alot onhow to start your study plan.

As for me, In the morning I start doing my 100 q&a at 9am doing only the study mode in saunders cd so I could read the rationale right away. I also do the kaplan cds which comes in kaplan strategy book and the other kaplan cd which has different number of items.:nuke: Then in the afternoon I read my saunders 3rd ed. I think it took me 2ms to finish reading the whole book since I start 130pm until 6 or 7pm. After that I rest and watch TV. After reading the whole saunders I read the kaplan strategy book. 2wks before my exam, Im already done with those books and i just do the q&a the whole dday. sunday is my rest day.:vdgmg: good luck to you and dont forget to pray everday. Stick to ypur study plan as well. If you start 9am you have to do it everyday.:igtsyt:

I just took and passed NCLEX 05/23. PC stop at 75. I got 16 (!) SATA, one computation, lots of prioritisation and lots of infection control (like prevention or way of transmission).

Before exam I "slept on" Silvesrti "Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination" (3rd edition), "Q&A Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination" (3rd edition), Kaplan NCLEX-RN Exam 2007-2008 (a lot of useful strategies!)

I think the best way to study for the NCLEX is practice, practice and one more time PRACTICE on a computer.

hi! take it easy, relax!! don't get terrified you can do this.. i know you can! Since you already have your ATT, have you scheduled yet? if you haven't well, this is what i did. I actually reviewed in kaplan (8days class and everything else online) at the end of january08- april08 (3 month access only) and i got my ATT on march, so everything before march was like "?!?"..i wasn't really serious, because i didn't have the exact date of the exam and the adrenaline wasn't kicking in yet. But, before you schedule, make sure you have the estimated days to actually "comprenhesively" get enough info to say you're prepared for the exam, don't just rush things just to get it over with because that could lead to failure and for sure, studying all over again is something you don't want to go through again!! Might as well say, slowly but surely?!hehe.. And always stick to one resource book, the one you'd be reading from cover to cover, and practice questions everyday (As in..everyday!! at least 50?). I would have to say study at least 4 hours a day? or as much as your body and mind can handle, and make sure you have break time in between... i do, whenever i get sleepy, i sleep (go to my bed and roll around!!zzz) then get back up again. Also, make sure you have a good diet and have enough glucose (brain food!!) when you study, snacks beside you? how great!!hehe And most of all, before starting your day and anything, pray and give thanks that your blessed to be in this profession. Sacrificing now, can do soo much later... just always think of the long term goals..
