Study tips and advice

I need advice on how to best study for tests and get through all the material to where I can understand it. I am having some trouble getting everything in and then getting confused by test questions, particularly in Med-Surg. Help, please?

You need to understand the "why" of everything in nursing, not just memorize facts. Try getting together with some classmates and teaching each other. Put a bunch of things in a hat, everybody pick one, and come back in a few days to discuss. There's nothing like having to teach something to make you learn it! Really!

My advice would be to get a NCLEX Saunders book, study each subject you are on in class. Practice practice ad many NCLEX questions as possible. I started doing bad in the beginning of Med surg because I was trying to memorize everything then someone told me this and now I'm passing my test and doing much better.

Good luck
