Student Loan?

I have been accepted into the nursing program...yeah!! My credit is not all that great, but my husbands is. We do not qualify for financial aid, grants or anything like that. He makes to much money, but we can not afford paying for it upfront.

I have 2 options...taking out a student loan, with him as a co signer. Would that even work? How does getting a student loan work?

2 options, our college offers like a payment plan...20% down and the rest they split up into 4 payments. I do not have a problem with this options.

What should i do? The first semester i am doing option 2, since we just found out i got in.

Thanks,

Nicole

Hi Nicole,

Congratulations on your acceptance!!!, I am too not eligible for any grants- I have BS. Also, I am not eligible for subsidized Stafford Loan -my husbands make too much money. I applied for Unsubsidized Stafford Loan which is not based on financial need. I had to fill out a form to apply. http://www.staffordloan.com/stafford-loan-info/unsubsidized-student-loan.php Hope it helps :).

Look into Stafford loans. They are government backed, not need based or credit based.
