Well I have never been much of a complainer but here recently I have been so miserable at my current job at a LTC facility that I feel I need to vent and see of other are dealing with the same problems as me and may have some advice. The job I currently have was my first job out of nursing school I have worked here about 8 months. I have been unhappy for a while now. A the new year they laid off 6 nurses and kept me. At first I felt proud that I was allowed to stay over many nurses that had been there several years. With the lay off I work my butt off 30 pt by myself to do complete care meds, g-tubs, colostomys, caths, injections... You name it i do it. It wouldn't be so bad if the nurse I relive wouldn't leave 2 hours of her work for me to do, along with finishing her admissions and such. My unit manager does the same thing leaves me with 8-10 charts filled with DR orders for me to transcribe. It's terrible to say the least. It's very unorganized and nothing ever gets done unless I do it. I have been trying and trying to find a new job but either no one is hiring or I'm not experienced enough. It's extremely frustrating. I'm also DX with a heart condition and the added stress is causing it to become more severe. I ended up passing out at work and hitting my head, ems has to come. Very embarrassing. I'm only 22 year old and I feel like I consumed by my unhappiness at my job! Anyone have any advice?
