starting at UMAB in the fall!

hey everyone! i am finally beginning nursing school this fall at umd and was wondering if anyone had any insight into the program. also, do you have any advice on getting a hospital to foot the bill?? What about housing options? thank you so much, everyone! i'm totally overwhelmed and any help that you can give me would be soooo appreciated! thank you thank you thank you!! :kiss

i don't have an answer for your question. but i wanted to express my anxiety b/c I have not heard from them yet! I moved so now I fear my acceptance (or rejection) letter has been lost like so much forwarded mail. Is anyone else still waiting to hear about UMAB trad. BSN?

Hi! Don't stress! They informed me two weeks prior to the application deadline and said I had two weeks to send in my deposit, so I think I received mine earlier than most. It will probably take them at least 3-4 weeks to notify candidates, so if the deadline is April 1 for traditional, you probably still have a few weeks. Also, because I applied for the accelarated rather than traditional, I am sure that your application process is completely different than mine. If I were you, I would definately contact admissions and tell them your concern. They are very easy to get in touch with, and each time I have gotten an answer to my questions quite quickly. I totally understand any anxiety that you are feeling. It is very difficult waiting to hear. Did you apply anywhere else? Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!!

I just attended an open house for UMAB and am a little discouraged. They said over 1000 apply and there are only 200 spots for traditional and their new masters program. If you guys got in, what were your GPAs if you dont mind me asking?

hi serena, if you have instant messenger my sn is osb00 (osb zero zero). you can feel free to ask me any questions that you may have. otherwise, my undergrad gpa was 3.2 and my prereq gpa was 3.75. good luck and feel free to ask whatever you want! i was really stressed too, so i totally understand. take care.
