1st day on my own!!

On Moday I will be on my own and I'm freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I picked the worse busy day to start...I work on a ortho/onc/surg floor (mainly ortho) and usually mondays are busy with all the surgeries.

Anyways I want to know what I can do to make sure I'm on top of everything. During my orientation I had a preceptor that was so nice but really didn't let me do things on my own. So I'm kinda glad to be on my own so I can learn.

what do you think is the most important thing I should remember? any advice?

Help!

I noticed that when I do not drink as much coffee, my anxiety level drops. I come off orientation in 2 weeks! I think the support is there and thats important.

Thanks for your comments! I had a good 1st day & today was my second day I haven't killed anyone so I guess you can say it was a good day.

The time management is my major problem 2 days of OT...i hope my bose doesn't get too upset.

What type of floor do you work on?

I work in a ortho/oncology/surgical floor, so we get a little of everything.

I go on my own soon and I'm nervous. Time management is something I struggle with too, I'm worried about racking up too much OT.

Being a new grad is stressful. Yikes!
