hey there, now first off i'm a pre nursing student so please forgive any stupid questions but i cannot find anyone else to ask, is there a specific type of medic (espeacilly in AF)? what i mean is, are there trauma medics and then regular medics? i really want to get some experience in the trauma feild ( already have some out here ) but was really curious, when i talked to a recruiter and mentioned something about a difference but i cannot remember exactly what he said, also figured talking to actual military nurses and such might be a better insight. If so what are the differences you know of? sorry pretty long post. lol

much love

No all medics are general medics anymore, unless you go into special operations/pararescue. http://www.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?fsID=177

Going into pararescue is not something to take lightly. The drop out rate is somewhere around 60+%. Think of being a Navy Seal and a paramedic and that will give a good idea of what pararescuemen are/do.
