i have a high anterior placenta, which i have been told is ok even tho most placentas are posterior (so im told) can having an anterior placenta make you more prone to the baby being in a posterior position? sorry for all these questions i have been asking but i forget when i see my midwife. thanks :)

It's a distinct possibilty uk_nurse, if the placenta is on the anterior wall of the uterus the baby is more like to find a position that allows it the most space. But again the placenta is a soft structure so it won't prevent the baby moving from the posterior position it's in to an anterior position, even if it's during labour. If it's determined to stay posterior that's ok too, I have delivered quite a few babies who have decided to make their entrance facing upwards and none of the Mum developed problems as a result.

thanks for the reply Dawn. alot of people keep telling me how awful it is when in labour with a posterior baby.i dont find labour too bad with my other 3 had just gas and air and that was fine for me but people tell me i will ask for an epidural cos it is really bad. Thats what really worries me. i have done many pelvic rocks but to no avail. i have a very stubborn baby...... :rotfl:
