I am a CNA and originally wanted to pursue a career in Neonatal nursing. Although this is still a possibility I am also interested in Sonography, but don't know where to begin. I have heard different things about how to get started. I've heard you can go straight into a Sonography degree program out of high school. I've heard it's better to get your RN first and i've heard it's better to become a radiology technician first. I am very confused about what to do and where to begin. If someone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it!

I don't know if this varies by state, but the community college near me offers a DMS (Diagnostic Medical Sonography) program which is direct-entry, no prior education (besides high school and the standard health program pre-reqs) needed. The waiting list is eternal because employment of grads is close to or is 100% and the pay is almost as high as the RN grads.
I would find the website for the accrediting body (not sure if its ARRT or not) and then do a search for programs to see what is offered in your area.
