when somebody is strangled

thanks in advance for reading.

long story short, i participate in a combat sport... somebody was strangled unconscious (by another participant). what do you do in this scenario?

1) i've seen people lift their legs... as in a modified trendelenburg.

or

2) placed into "recovery" position. in fear of aspirating, vomit, (choking on their tongue), their mouthpiece, etc...
