Hello everyone! I just passed the Nclex RN, on my first attempt, and I would love to share my experience and what helped me. First of all, i think it is important to know the kind of person/student you are. It takes a little longer for some to absorb new infos than others so make sure you give yourself ample time to study if you need it. After graduation, I took about a month off to relax and do personal things, then I started studying for Nclex for about 2and 1/2 months. I started with Kaplan, ( my school offered a discount). I thought Kaplan was ok but I did not feel it was enough for me. I was confused about the 5 steps thing. After doing all the questions from Kaplan, I took a 5 weeks course of NCSBN learning extension. I have loved everything about NCSBN, they made it easy to understand with a nicely laid out content and plenty of Qbank questions. I just skimmed through the content area but did all the QBanks and quizzes. Although it is important to know your content, the Nclex itself isn't really a content exam. It is mostly about safety, prioritization and clinical judgment. Taking notes or taking pictures of rationales while reading and answering questions is crucial. After practicing questions, give yourself time to review your notes. Do not rush into this test, if you have not covered everything you need to cover, it is ok to postpone the test. You will be anxious before and during the exam but that is ok, just make sure your anxiety does not get too overwhelming during the exam. Take breaks frequently and deep breathe. If you are Christian, pray frequently. I hope this helps, good luck, and know that you got this.
