I am set to begin BSN Oct 1, I don't have my next phone call with mentor until Wednesday, I want to go ahead and get the computer software I need to be successful. What software do I need for this program? Thanks

I've been enrolled in to RN-to-BSN program since May and have not needed to purchase any special software. It's included since you paid a technology fee.
WGU will provide you with links to download whatever software you need for free so you don't have to pay. I downloaded Panopto to record my head-to-toe assessment for the health assessment course. I'm currently using Acrobatiq to take the statistics course. However, I used the links provided by WGU for free. If you try to obtain these on your own, you'll have to pay.
PowerPoints will be needed for the biochemistry course, but I created these assignments at my workplace to avoid paying for Microsoft Office. A free alternative to PowerPoint and Microsoft Office is the OpenOffice software. Just google 'OpenOffice' and download it to your computer for free.

"Pocket WGU" for iOS and Android; Evernote for saving clippings, setup Google Drive, MS Office. Don't pay for anything prior to checking if there is an educational/student discount.
See if you can get MS Office through your work--my employer had it for something like $10; one copy only. Idea is to get employees using it at home so they are more proficient (I guess).
