Sociology problems / help!!!

Published

This semester has been very tough on me, as I took an Eng course along with A&P, and also Sociology.

The sociology class is easy all besides the exams!!! Participation activities - straight A's. However, the exams were very, very complicated to understand. I got two low grades: 58% and a 68%. It's not good, I know. The A&P took up almost all of my time.

My average in sociology right now is 74%. I need a 77% to pass it. I've talked with the professor, as she's really liberal and flexible. She told me there was extra credit, but even with that . . . I'm still not sure. I've mentioned these terrible exams to her twice. She always told me "don't stress or worry about it!" with a smile, as if everything was terrific.

We go back to class Tuesday after turkey holiday. I'm not sure how she could help bring my score up to a 77 or 80%.

It's confusing, because this professor is so liberal and just "out there". I'm just worried she's not going to let me make anything up to reach this percent to pass. In essence, I don't know how to take her, lol.

What would you do? Can she curve or drop the lowest grade? I noticed on the syllabus, she states she's entitled to change whatever she wants... I'm not sure how to take that, and she doesn't seem like the type that fails anyone, but my average says differently.

I'm in a pickle with this class..... hmmmmm....

Help!!!! :) would you approach and talk with her?

I would focus more on figuring out how to take her tests more effectively. How many are left, total? Do you know what grades you need on each test to bring your grade up?

No, there were only two tests. The only thing left is presentation. She has mentioned extra credit, but 10 points isn't going to bring my score up... I wouldn't think, not by much.

I emailed her, but she hasn't got back to me yet.

I'm not sure what she will / can do.
