Hi,
Looking at programs in Southern California for either a post-ms certificate or potentially a DNP. It looks like CSULB is doing away with the certificate in favor of DNP. I know of Azusa as well. Any other programs people recommend checking out locally? Would love to hear about specific experience as well as programs to look into. To clarify not already an NP so not able to do the joint UCLA/UCSF one.
Thank you!

Hi all. I’m looking for pmhnp programs as well in SoCal. APU is a good option. Next start date is fall 2023 though. National university, I believe they have a campus in SD? Western university in Pomona. Vanguard in Costa Mesa, but their pmhnp program is new . Westcoast. Charles drew university. I’m having a hard time deciding! please share if you find anything additional !

I was recently accepted to APU for PHMNP Spring 2023! I looked at the other options you mentioned and decided to try APU first, and, if necessary, apply to Western in Pomona (I live near both of these schools). Thankfully, I got into APU!
That’s so exciting, congrats!! I would like to apply to APU also. I actually just emailed them today to get started with the app process. Such a bummer that I missed the deadline for Spring! But it’s OK, I’ll try for fall and maybe even try to read the books while I wait hehe. Do you have any tips you can share about the application process? Thanks and congrats again!

I found the application process to be very straightforward. They require a personal statement(mine was 1 page), a resume, transcripts, and two electronic references.
Great to hear thank you. Do you know how many classes they have you at take a time? Per semester..
did they give you an option to go full time vs part time?

Two classes per semester. The minimum time to finish is two and a half years, but you can do part-time and spread it out over 3+ years if you want. Two classes, and 6 units are considered FT.

@ren_CH just found out I got I to the pmhnp program at APU! How's it going?
