I am currently a veterinary nurse and changing career to go back to school for human nurse i want to become an RN. But cant afford to go to a 4 year school for my bsn because of i also have a family and there are no schools close to my home and funds. I just have to take AP 1 and 2 and microbiology classes and then could be qualified for a nursing program. I am looking to go to waubonsee c.c. for nursing program for associates degree and then hopefully that could get my foot in the door to a hospital or clinic and after a fews years of practicing nursing i would do an online program for bsn does that sound like a good path to do or what would u being a current nurse to do. Im just trying to find out a way of going for nursing program.

This sounds exactly like what I'm doing. I have a previous degree, did some pre-reqs, got accepted to a 2 year RN program, and plan to finish up my BSN online once I have a job! I haven't completed any part of this except the pre-reqs and acceptance (starting school in 2 weeks EEEKKK), but I think it's a solid plan and a fairly common approach.
Thanks i was just wondering if i was going in a good path. It sounds like it. Good luck in school
