Skills reference?

Hello,

I had to temporarily withdraw from nursing school after passing the first semester. I'm worried that when I go back in spring of '09 I will have completely forgotten my skills and I have no lab to practice in. Does anyone know if there are any good DVD's or internet sites that have good skills demonstration videos (like bandaging, wound care, suctioning, starting IV's etc...)?

Also, does anyone know if there is such a thing as a "practice kit" one can purchase to practice nursing skills? (perhaps with things like bandages, syringes, iv bags, iv catheters, etc.?)

See if you can get a position in a local ER as a nursing assistant...you'll get plenty of contact time with patients. The usual basic requirement is either being a nursing student or an emt. If ER position not available, check other departments.
