SJSU FALL 2020

Hi everyone! I am creating this for those of you who are planning to apply for the fall 2020 SJSU nursing program. I am super excited for this journey and curious as to what the applicant pool looks like! Feel free to share your GPA and TEAS and good luck to everyone! ?

Big 5 GPA: 3.79

TEAS: 91.3

Impaction Score: 6.84

Also I think those of us who are transfers probably can’t register for classes until after our orientation?

can you guys update here if you get a follow up email? I didn't receive anything besides my acceptance (out of the waitlist) on May 21st.

& probably right about being transfers. But this is the specific note from the email: "Please note: you will not be able to sign up for classes until your major has been changed to NURSING, which we cannot do until we have a complete list of students who are accepting."

Hello and CONGRATS to everyone who got accepted I bet that this is not how you wanted to spend your first semesters in nursing school.. I am getting ready to apply when applications open this fall and I just had a question.

Is there a reference page I can look at for passed cut off scores for admissions?

THANK YOU. ?

The cutoff for those admitted was 6.58, and the cutoff for the waitlist (15 ppl) was 6.48. For reference, I got accepted off the waitlist with a 6.5 impaction score.

It's important to note that for Fall 2020, they calculated the impaction scores differently. Instead of being divided by 30, the TEAS was multiplied by 0.03 (this makes the TEAS more heavily weighted than before).

I'm not sure if they're going to keep this method of scoring tho. Good luck!

Yay!! Can't wait to meet you! Feel free to invite more people if you know anybody in other cohorts too for advice or book sales :))

Hey guys!
Has anyone heard back from Sue Malloy? I’m unsure if we should be completing the requirements on CastleBranch since she told us to hold off on them for a week. But it’s been more than a week without a follow-up email from her so I’m a bit worried ><

I haven’t either! I just continued completing the ones I could. Hopefully, she’ll reach out soon and if not, I’ll try shooting her an email!

Thank you for the reply @annietee! ?

Sue Malloy sent a follow-up email yesterday, and it is a bit saddening that the majority of classes will be online :c

By the way, have any of you guys completed the CPR requirement already?

I’m bummed about that too ? at least we can all still talk on here if we need help! it would have been nice to have study groups though. But I’m glad our cohort wasn’t postponed!

(I already had my CPR for work)

I haven’t completed my CPR already but I’m hoping to get it done sometime this month. Last time I checked, there were quite a few openings offering in person+online, sort of like a hybrid class.
